I need your help please! StateBridge Company, LLC wants to foreclose on our home due to a 20 year old "zombie loan". its a second loan taken out on our primary home. We paid for 8 years on al loan that was predatory, high in interest and were upside down. Returned to bank as a foreclosure -- we received nothing. **** charged it off in 2013 after the sale, then ***** and *** took over the loan -- never have received ANY notices or bills for 13 years, In january 2024 they "transferred" it to STATEBRIDGE COMPANY LLC in ******** with ZERO communication until last year. We believed they were a scam/ fraudelent debt collector given all the complaints/ class action lawsuits. Well, they filed a NOTICE OF DEFAULT on January 2, 2025 and we now have 2 days to file a TRO or lawsuit. Haven't found someone that can help us, and i've been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks daily. PLEASE HELP! I have all of the documents such as charge off documents from 12+ years ago, 1099-C's where we paid in excess of $30K to the **** and NEVER in 12 years received any bills from anyone. STATEBRIDGE has not been helping and takes months for them to call us...i feel it was a tactic to wait out the time. Please HELP, I can't lose my home -- I'm retired for 20 years and live on Social security with no other prospects. thanks you

I received a letter dated December 2nd 2024 from ***************************** stating that I am behind on my mortgage 4 months I am not behind on my mortgage I have receipts for every payment I have made somebody is stealing my money, pocketing my money, and not putting it towards my mortgage they must be investigated they have not complied to my letters that I sent them, therefore I am filing this complaint. I want you to force compliance with them and I want this matter resolved so I do not have to hire my lawyer again. Please note that they also put me in foreclosure unfairly last year and they got grants from the government which was $6,000 over the amount of what I owed so they stole over $6,000 from government grants this must be investigated as well.

I am writing to demand urgent intervention regarding a serious case of identity theft, which has led to the inclusion of false and damaging information on my credit report. Despite my proactive steps, including filing a formal complaint with ***************** , my credit report remains inaccurate. The following account is fraudulent and must be removed immediately:Creditor Name: STATEBRIDGE COMPANY LLC Opened Date: 12/24/2020 Account Number: ****** This account was opened without my authorization or knowledge, and its continued presence on my report is causing severe and unwarranted damage to my credit standing. I am formally demanding the immediate removal of this account from my credit file. Additionally, I expect you to contact the creditor to verify the fraudulent nature of this account and to take all necessary actions to correct this false information.

On 2/6/24, I received a notice of assignment, transfer, etc. from Statebridge Company, LLC (*******************************, ***, d/b/a ********* Trust as Trustee for ***** Trust 1). But my mortgage company had not assigned my mortgage. On 2/26, I received a debt collection notice for $40,289.70; and for $17,000 on 2/27. I returned their forms with the box checked, "this is not my debt." I since found out that a loan was taken out on 1/17/06, that I have no knowledge of. Or, that I have ever been contacted about. I received a notice dated 4/10, indicating a "cease and desist placed on the file. You will not receive anymore phone call, statements, or other documents" However, I continued to receive debt collection notices. My letter on 6/30, stated, Reviving old debt is a common ploy among unscrupulous debt collectors. They may buy debt thats past the statute of limitations for pennies on the dollar then seek to dupe the debtor into making even a tiny payment Under most statutes of limitations, making a payment, even a partial one, resets the clock... (LA Times, 9/26/21)." I also asked the following questions, but never received an answer. Did you first begin contacting me on 2/26, about a debt incurred in 2006? Do you know the statute of limitations for debt is four years (Code of Civil Procedure 337)? So, isnt the statute of limitations for a debt incurred in 2006, the year of 2011? Are you trying to trick me into making a partial payment to reset the clock? Are you trying to unlawfully report a charged off debt regarding me? In retaliation, I received a letter dated 9/24, threatening to accelerate the loan; start foreclosure, etc. Fraud means wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial gain. Statebridge is committing fraud by using deception to result in financial gain. They are trying to revive an old debt from 2006. But the statute of limitations is four years and ended in 2011. As a result, the debt is not owed or collectible.

I am rejecting this response because. Since you first contacted me in February of 2024, I have disputed this loan on at least three occasions. One, in March of 2024, I returned your form marked, This is not my debt. Two, I sent you a letter dated 3/4/24 that stated, The purpose of this letter is to notify you that I am not aware of or have ever taken out a loan Please correct your records to show that this is not my debt Because I suspect that this may be fraud. If I am contacted again I will send a copy of all correspondence to the ***************** in ***************** ***** After you contacted me again,I sent a letter in June to ****** ******, Chief of Police (***************************************************;*****). And I provided him with the information regarding this matter. Three, in June I returned your form marked, This is not my debt.

Now, in November you are notifying me, If you believe you are a victim of identity theft, then we encourage you to contact your local law enforcement immediately to file a complaint. I have contacted the local ***************** to report this matter, as you suggest. Once their ****************** makes the incident report available, I will mail you a copy for your investigation. I will also mail you a copy of a letter I am going to mail the local Police Chief about this matter.

I needed to respond within the BBB seven-day deadline. Which limited what I could accomplish, like legally disputing the statute of limitations of claim with legal counsel. I am working on that now.

To sum up, I will mail Statebridge Company,LLC (****************************. *****************, **) a copy of the police incident report regarding identity theft concerning me. So, you can do an investigation to show I am a victim of identity theft. I will also mail you a copy of a letter I am going to mail the local Police Chief. In addition, please send in the mail to me all notices from ************ and ************************, especially correspondence from their collection companies. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    C ********

    Customer Answer

    Date: 11/22/2024

Dear BBB, thank you for your request to be sent a copy of the incident report I filed with the local ***************** on 11/7/24 regarding identity theft (It takes up to 10 days to receive a copy). I have attached a copy for you. I also attached a copy of the letter I sent to the Police Chief about this matter.

Statebridge agreed to stop the collection and do an investigation into identity theft. If they received a copy of the Police Report. They now have a copy of the report attached. There are numerous negative reviews of Statebridge on-line. BBB, should I be confident the collection will stop, and an objective investigation will take place?

The LA Times reported (9/6/21) that debt collectors buy old debt for peenies on the dollar. In 2023, did Statebridge/Wilmington Savings unknowingly buy an old debt from 18-years ago for peenies on the dollar that was based on identity theft?

    1/9/25

    Dear BBB,

Thank you for forwarding Statebridges correspondence dated 1/3/25.

In that correspondence, Statebridge requested that I fill out their Identity Theft Affidavit. Sign it in front of a notary. And, then mail it to them.

Please find attached a copy of the notarized Identity Theft Affidavit. I also mailed a copy to Statebridge at ***************************************************************).

In their correspondence (11/1/24)sent to the BBB, Statebridge said, If you are a victim of identity theft, then we encourage you to contact your local law enforcement immediately to file a complaint

So, on 11/7/24 I called the police and told them I wanted to report that I was a victim of identity theft. The police officer asked what happened. Statebridge didnt indicate what they wanted included in the police report. So, I told the police officer everything from beginning to end (see enclosed letter to Police Chief).

The officer said that because I had not lost any money due to identity theft. They do not do an investigation. Statebridge can confirm this by calling the non-emergency number of the ***************** *************).

I have provided Statebridge with all the information they requested regarding identity theft. Now, they can immediately stop the collection. Do an investigation into identity theft. And then file a claim with their insurance company. Once I receive that notification, I will be able to close this matter.  Thank you

    Complaint: 22397664

    Dear BBB,

Statebridges correspondence dated 1/27/25 gave four reasons why they believe identity theft did not take place. But I think those four reasons actually show that identity theft did take place.Let me explain.

First, if identity theft did not take place. Then the home appraisal would be accurate. But the appraisal is full of errors as listed below:

Page #5 (see attached scan) indicates the exterior walls are stucco. But the walls are wood siding.
Page #5 (see scan) indicates the roof surface is composition. But the roof is tile.
Page #5 (see scan) indicates the floors are carpet/wood. But when you walk through the front door. The living room floor is all tiles.
Page #5 (see scan) did not check the box indicating there is a laundry room on level 2. But there is a laundry room.
Page #5 (see scan) did not check the box indicating there is a washer/dryer. But there is a washer/dryer.
Page #5 (see scan) indicates there is a covered patio. But there is no covered patio.
Page #5 (see scan) indicates the fence is wood. But half the fence is made of concrete blocks.
Page #7 (see scan) says, Residential dwellings varying in design and size, each with individual market appeal. But I live in a neighborhood of approximately 100 homes built at the same time by the same builder/developer. There are only four different models.
Page #7 (see scan) says, property is in close proximity to schools But the schools are all at a distance and require transportation to get there.
Page #7 (see scan) says, The subject is removed from heavily traveled throughfares and therefore does not suffer from detrimental effects of traffic and noise. But the house is located adjacent to the busiest street in the city. And there is a lot of traffic and noise as a result.
Page #** (see scan) indicates, The signatures used in the report are digital signatures. But there are no original signatures.
Page #** (see scan) of the upstairs diagram has rooms/bathroom in the incorrect location. And there is no laundry room shown.

The appraisal is full of significant errors as mentioned above. If I had seen this appraisal, I would have pointed out the above. If identity theft did not take place. Then the home appraisal would be accurate.

There is something else in the home appraisal that I noticed. I was married at that time. But neither my first name nor my ex-wifes is ever mentioned in the twenty pages of the appraisal. Only the name ******** is mentioned. Why isnt a first name mentioned?

Second, if identity theft did not take place. Then the home home equity line of credit form would be accurate. But the form contains the following inaccuracies:

Page 1 of 1 (see scan) of lists my names as ******* ********, ******* E. ********, and ******* *. ******* is my nickname. But I do not use it for signing official/legal documents. My ex-wife called me *******.
Page 1 of 5 (see scan), the phone number for me is incorrect.
Page 1 of 5 indicates only one dependent. But I had four dependents at that time. I had one of those children with my ex-wife. Is that why only one child is mentioned?
The bottom of the page (or any of the pages) is not initialized by the person filling out the form.
Pages 1 of 5 (and 1 of 6) indicate I am a married man. But my ex-wifes name is never mentioned on any of the pages in the home equity line of credit form.
Page 6 of 6 (8 of 9, and 9 of 9) my name is signed, ******* E ******** and ******* ********. That is my nickname and how I sign casually. But when I sign something official/legal. I sign the first name (*******) on my birth certificate and drivers license. I operated a small business at that time. And I used signature stamps to sign my name on checks, letters, communication, cards, etc. My ex-wife had access to the signature stamps.

There are glaring inaccuracies with the home equity line of credit form as mentioned above. If identity theft did not take place. Then the home equity line of credit form would be accurate. I dont know how it was possible to get someone to give a home appraisal with numerous errors. And I dont how it was possible to get someone to notarize a home equity line of credit form that is inaccurate.

Third, if identity theft did not occur. Then I would have seen the statements from ************. But I did not see the statements. Why? My ex-wife picked up the mail from the mailbox. Could that be the reason?

Fourth, if identity theft did not occur. Then I would know about the payments to ************. But I did not know about the payments. Then who made the payments? Were they made by the person who intercepted the statements at the mailbox? Was this done to hide the loan? How could I make allegations of identity theft to ************ or anyone as a result?

In conclusion, Statebridges correspondence gave four reasons why they believe identity theft did not take place. But I have demonstrated above that those four reasons actually show that identity theft did take place.

Statebridge needs to immediately stop the collection, reopen their investigation into identity theft, and file a claim with their insurance company for identity theft.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ********

According to Staebridge I was behind on my payments. I talked to 2 different customer service **** and I was told they would get back to me. Then I received a message they sold the loan to the ***** company now they are saying according to Statebridge records I was behind so now it sh I was I'm behind with them. This is so frustrating because this has been going on for a couple of years. I never got a resolution to my issue. The loan was sold with incorrect information. Please fix this Statebridge LLC.

Let me first say that this company is trying to foreclose on my home, they claim they have the deed to a 2nd mortgage that they have bought. This other company called *************************** used to have this loan and had to cease and not collect because they had no license to collect. Now because they cannot collect they sent this loan to Statebridge as a way to keep collecting and this company is using the same people to take payments. This loan that they are claiming we owe had been modified to be added and forgiven by ********************************* executive order we have the proof. We now have a default letter from this company, This is a Zombie loan and there are many stories on the news regarding this issue, I can send proof in a separate letter. Thank you for your time.

I had a loan with PPH. They sold it to state bridge company in January 2024. They never sent us any invoices I constantly called and they were very uncooperative. I paid my loan throughout May 2025. State Bridge recently sold my loan to another company. Who Ive paid directly. State Bridge continues to report me to the credit bureau. This is seriously affecting my credit and I need some assistance.Recently, I paid ***** company the new loan holder $3070. I also called state bridge and told them I did this and they told me they would not be reporting me to any credit bureau because they no longer service my loan . This morning August 6, 2024 they reported me. HELP

I believe that Statebridge is a collection company. I believe that they are trying to collect a 2nd mortgage from a house that was foreclosed on Jan 2017. The mortgage company on record was noticed, but failed to respond to the court. The amount owed to the 2nd mortgage company was $7011.Now I have a Statebridge claiming reporting on my credit report that I owe them money. Statebridge states the original balance was $15000 on 3/2/2007. However, I owe them $7011 and it's only 128 days overdue. I have never signed a contract with Statebridge, but they have submitted a doctored contract that removed the mortgage company's name and switched in Statebridge. Can someone please look into this fraudulent company?

I had made payments online per their request. Recently I have gotten an error message on their site for several months. I have contacted them. They stated I was having issues not their website however after trying multiple times to get their company to fix the issue which is not fixed. I contacted a ********* software engineer they reported to me that Statebridge has server down (which has been months). When I reported this to Statebrisge they said they would charge me to make my payments with them if I didnt do it online (which their server is down. They also send communication notices but you can not access your online account. I will have to contact Housing Commissioner and an attorney to get accesss to the communications that they say is in my account in box. I get the same messages every single time from all web addresses

This is a second mortgage debt that Statebridge purchased through another company. It is supposed to follow an amortization schedule, yet every month the principal and the interest payments are all over the place. Typically, amortization Will have the principal payment going up and the interest going down as you pay them off over the years. Yet as you can see on the attached photo this is not the case. Why is this not the case? When I put the remaining balance in the interest on the loan in an amortization schedule, it does not show this pattern.
