I selected to subscribe for 1 year for $20. AARP took $79 from my acct for a ****** subscription. When I called AARP to have the $59 refunded back to me, AARP took an additional $20 out of my account without telling me and then had me transfer to another **** to have the $79 refunded. The refund will now take 3 days. After the year subscription is over, I will never subscribe with them again.AARP

I have always been respectful of AARPs advocacy for seniors, however:1) when it comes to providing objective information for Medicare beneficiaries the organization comes across as a shill for United Health Care 2) I signed up for VSP vision care only to find out that that neither my wife's nor my ophthalmologists accept it. (Yes, I know, my bad for not checking beforehand). Trying to cancel it has been like getting rid of bamboo.AARP

**** has been charging me a subscription for 6 years, I have never used it!! At one point someone was using my name in another state. I have called several times in the past, with no results. They were willing to only give me 1 year of my money back!! I see how they treat older people they think dont have any sense!!AARP

Dear Ms. *********** you for your comments. I did research your membership, and you enrolled in AARP -- with an auto-renew subscription - in 2018. Each year, we have sent emails/letters to you advising you about the upcoming renewal charge (and providing information on how to cancel the auto-renew feature, if that is your preference). I will be sending you an email with some additional information.If you feel that your identity was stolen, you should report the incident to your financial institution(s)/credit card providers. ************ Insurance From AARP is the biggest ripoff to Seniors in *******! And that is going some in today's criminal world! Talk about a PONZU SCHEME! They say in their brochures that the plans cover "dentures" but in reality, they DEMAND that you pay them for a WHOLE YEAR before they will cover what they say they cover in the brochures! A complete RIPOFF!!!****************************AARP

The last thing on their mind is seniors. It is a lucrative business and with their non-profit status they give the impression of providing best values to seniors. Everything they offer is far more expensive than what one can get from other resources, insurance, travels, ****** not respect or trust them at all.AARP

1 starVery disappointed with AARP regarding the purchase of gift cards from the site. I thought it was a reputable organization. Purchase 2/6/2025, never received the gift cards, but credit card was charged. Have contacted AARP repeatedly--voice, text, chat, with no resolution to date 2/17, 3/3, 3/7, 3/12/2025, and each time, start from scratch. It is truly a shame that the VOLUNTEERS in ******* are not compensated for what they do.These volunteers come to the *************** on their own "dime" and precious time. I hate doing my taxes. These volunteers could have been walking in the park instead of helping me with "UNCLE ***".I want to send out my heartfelt thanks to those who choose selfless work to help those in need.Thank you for what you do!AARP

Predatory, you can sign up very easily online. But if you want to cancel you have to chat with someone or call in so they can try to upsell you or convince you to stay. Considering they service a lot of seniors, this is very predatory and a lot of seniors likely do not cancel because it's a hassle. Too much spam emails, mailing, and not enough services worth it.AARP

I finally received the product I payed for, and I am glad to have finally received them. I would add that my experience with AARP has been FULL of frustration all through the process, and It also resulted in a loss of money to my family in making my vacation reservation. If I had received my ****** gift cards when I placed the order (or even a day or 3 later) I would have been able to reserve my family's vacation spot with a savings of almost $250 and then would have benefited from the discounted price I paid for the gift cards (a total of $100 in additional savings) from AARP's rewards portal offer as well. Because of the delay, Not only did I NOT get the $250 discount from the rental, but had to pay $200 more than the price we were planning on. That's a pretty big swing from $350 in savings to $200 in extra cost (-$550). I heard multiple times from various representatives that AARP was "so grateful for my continued membership", but let me say that because no one reached out to me (after I contacted AARP at least 6 times) or was empowered to help me for 10 business days (almost 2 weeks of time) I felt ignored and taken advantage of. The company proved that they don't really care about me as a customer. They were fully willing to take my money (almost $2000) immediately, but did not feel the need to provide me with my purchase (a simple electronic one at that) with the same expediency. I don't believe AARP is looking out for me, and I can't imagine retaining my membership after it expires next year. I also know that this complaint will probably vanish into "cyber oblivion", but I thought I'd at least express my concerns on the infinitesimal chance that I could spare some other customer the frustration and potential loss I experienced. I am posting here to warn people against purchasing from the AARP rewards portal, but I am dubious about the possibility of prompting change in such a large company.AARP

I reached out to AARP to assist with finding Medicare additional coverage. The very next and EVERY DAY since that call I have recieved at the least 5 to 6 spam calls a day in referance to medicare coverage. Ive had my celluar service several years and never has this happened until I called AARP. They are obviously selling contact information. I'm a disabled veteran and these calls are affecting my PTSD. I'm goin to be forced to change my contact number where all of my medical providers reach me which will be a enormous inconvenious to say the least. It's 1150AM I have already received 4 calls this morning.AARP
