Timely Payday Loans called on 05/15/2024 claiming I had a loan for them from 2019 for 500.00. They had the last 4 of my social, my former bank account number and address. I was told I made one payment of $150.00 and defaulted. The place he had listed for employment was incorrect for the time period. I advised him I had not taken a loan out and here in SC I have never heard of a company called Timely Payday Loan. The representatives name was Kevin **** who called. Our household does not use finance companies or such, we only use banks. He claimed of many attempts that had been made to collect, YET this is the first time I have heard of them. It alarms me that he has as much personal information on me as he does without me ever applying with them. He also called my husbands phone and not mine and stated it was the number on file. This happens one week after my husbands info was stolen and fraudulant **** *** charges made, Iva, SC police case #*********** The number that they called from was ###-###-#### which is a SC number, not MD. How do I go about getting this corrected?Initial Complaint

BBB Complaint Case# 36181086 (Ref#85-90###-###-####1086-2-165) Here we go again with Timely Payday loans but using a company called ********* ********* in Charlotte, NC to try and get money for Timely Payday. I got a voice message stating they had a Civil Complaint filed against me in court and i needed to contact them urgently. Once again claiming I took out a loan in May 2019. When I explained I did not take out a loan and asked for them to mail me proof of the loan including my signature things turned ugly. They told me this was my last chance to pay a portion of the loan for it to be closed and that I will end up owing more money. What worries me is they had my social security number, birthdate, and phone birthrate, They tried to intimidate me by having my SSN but I never admitted if it was correct or not. On and off I've received emails trying to collect money. They would threaten in emails they were sending the police with a warrant for my arrest. I responded to let the police know I'll be sitting on the front porch waiting for them. Of course nothing happened. I am beginning to consider taking out harassment charges against them since this has been going on for 5 years now.Initial Complaint

Somebody committed fraud on me , **** ****** on 4-19-2019. The account number is ********. The route number for cash is ********. The email that was used is ************************ The collection agency has found me and giving me this information telling me I should investigate and try to close this app that you made a deposit to in a fraudulent loan . Got a call from a Timely Payday loan stating I had taken out a loan of $500 and made 2 payments and stopped paying them. They had my last 4 digits of my SSN and my place of employment. They gave me 3 options to pay it off. I stated I never took out a loan and was not going to pay them. The claim they are taking me to court. Please help.Initial Complaint

I was just contacted today January 12, 2023 about owing this company money and the call I received was from an attorneys office they're filing charges and I supposedly got a payday loan from these people. It was put on a green dot card, which I do not use and they're gonna be delivering some kind of paperwork to my job or at home. I said that's fine I'm not signing for anything how are these companies out there? I was also told I have to prove I didn't do it since it was my birthdate of my social I said no ma'am I'm not signing anything you need to prove I have a Green Dot Card and I got that loan. On January 9, 2023 I was contacted through my voicemail by a woman named Megan ***** who toldme she was attempting to contact me as part of location services to serve me legal papers for three charges of fraudulent behavior. The same caller also contacted my father, uncle and grand-father. Upon calling the phone number provided, XXX-XXX-XXXX, I was told that legal action was going to be taken on behalf of timelypayday.com. The person I spoke to informed me that the amount I owed was $1560.32,but they were able to provide a one-time courtesy payment of $1000. I asked for additional information about the debt and was told that all they could provide me was what they already had and that if I did not pay I would have to appear in Ocean County Court. I was told they represented Palmer and Perry Law Group with a mailing address of a PO Box located in Hartford, Connecticut. A brief google search was unable to find this law office.Initial Complaint

Received a call from XXX-XXX-XXXX and did not recognize so I denied call. Call her left message stating this was an official attempt to collect a debt and threatened that I needed to call their office back within 24 hours, and also indicated that this was considered official mail notification. It appears to be from a payday loan type operation, and I did not take any loan out from this company. Appears there are other complaints as well and would like to ask for some assistance with this complaint. Thank youInitial Complaint

On 9/12/22 I received a call from XXX-XXX-XXXX stating that I had taken a load out with timely payday loans, and they are going to garnish my wages. The bank information that they provided I have never had an acct with. According to the caller the bank acct number is XXXXXXXXX for Woodforest bank. I then contacted Woodforest bank and explained what was going on I provided that acct number and the Woodforest rep advised that this is not one of their bank acct numbers and then searched my name and no results came up. At this time, I am not sure who I should contact I have tried called the number back but no answer.
