I recently checked my credit report and found some inaccuracies. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is a federal law that promotes the accuracy, fairness, and privacy of information in the files of consumer reporting agencies (CRAs). CRAs are companies that collect and maintain consumer information, which is then used to produce consumer reports.

On June 2022, I purchased a car through *************** and started financing through American Heritage Credit Union. From the beginning there was no way to see an account for this loan other than a link to make payments through. American credit union sent me a letter in August telling me that I had to pay $592 more than what my loan was for due to not having the insurance coverage that they required. I attempted getting more information from them and it was extremely difficult, the only thing they said was that they provided me the coverage necessary for the three weeks. I explained that I never agreed to that and I thought $592 was significant amount for three weeks worth of coverage when I did have car insurance. The payments were spread out and added to my monthly payments. There was an extra $51.14 added to my monthly payments, which changed from $469.83 to $520.97. I paid this 8 times which would mean that I paid $409.12 from the $592 they were charging for insurance coverage which by the way I never even saw a copy of the policy coverage. I was involved in a car accident in March and my car was a total loss. My car insurance issued a payment of $23,208.04 which left a remainder of $6,126.10. GAP inside claim was filed and approved for $5,247.12, they excluded $592 that were still being charged as insurance coverage. I have tried speaking with American Heritage representatives since March because they have been reporting miss payments to my account causing damage to my Credit History. After telling them that I would be contacting the BBB because of their lack of communication and documentation they gave me access to a customer account so that I could see my past history payments. This has caused me a great deal of stress, I do not believe that their charges are valid. I would like help in this matter because this company has taken a lot of money from me and damaged my credit history as well. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

This company is furnishing inaccurate information to the consumer credit bureaus (**********, *******, ********, etc.) I’ve contacted this company several times about this alleged account. Several of their representatives have informed me that no such account exists. I’ve asked them to remove this account. They have told me through mail that they will not remove it and that the account is accurate. Which I’ve shown them proof that it is not. I’ve asked them to mail me verification of this account belonging to me. They have not mailed me such proof, not even an account statement.

According to the IRS Law, even if you did not receive a Form 1099-C, you must report canceled debt as gross income on your tax return. The IRS defines a Charge-off as gross or ordinary income, and it is a fact that income does not get reported on the consumer report. Here are other consumer laws that support my case in my favor: 15 U.S Code 1692g(b), 15 USC 6802, 5 USC 552(a), 15 U.S Code 6801, 15 U.S. Code 6802, and 15 USC 1681i(5). I've contacted American Heritage Credit Union several times asking them to validate the debt; I gave them over 2 consecutive months to communicate with me about the issues and they failed to do so. This charge-off is affecting my credit score tremendously, which is creating other financial burdens and preventing me from having other successful opportunities like; buying a house, purchasing a car, etc. I would love to settle this issue so that I can move forward with my life.

I noticed I had late payments from AMERICAN HERITAGE FCU on my credit report. During these months I did not receive anything stating I was late. As you can see, majority of my payments have been on time so I am requesting the removal of these late payments from my account. I am trying to increase my score to purchase a home and would greatly appreciate if you guys can submit a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the late payments.

Thursday, February 2, 2023 @ approximately 7pm Est.I attempted to deposit over $700 into my bank account utilizing an American Heritage Federal Credit Union located ATM inside of the Shoprite Supermarket when the machine malfunctioned after taking my money. The machine stated that there was an error and that the transaction was canceled without returning my money. I then, contacted the bank and filed a claim. As of this date there has been no resolution to this claim and now I'm being assessed late fees on bills due to this error. An attempt to receive a credit line to assist in keeping my bills current was denied by the credit union.
