    Hi ******* and the BBB,

After receiving Brandons I escalated this internally for further review with our Trust & Safety team. After investigating further, they have confirmed that the initial decision to block Brandons resume was incorrect and they have now fully reinstated it. ******* should be able to use his Indeed account as normal again.

In order to protect the integrity of our review process we may not be able to share details on why the account was originally blocked but I can advise that it was not related to Brandons name in any way.

As this case has been fully addressed and the outcome is in line with Brandons request we will consider this case closed.

    Kind regards,
    Indeed Support

I am rejecting this response because:

This isn't just happening to me - it's happening to other Indeed users. Many people have stated as such on sites like Reddit.

Not providing a REASON as to why we all have been blocked ensures our accounts can be flagged AGAIN. How can I possibly avoid the underlying justification I am cannot avoid it in the future. I'm still taking this to social media.

Let's ensure Indeed loses market share and collapses under its own stupidity. I have already downloaded my data. I will be deleting my account today.

My company has posted many ads with Indeed. The last few we posted, two of which were copies of previously run ads greatly underperformed. To the point that we got 0-1 applicants a day even in the beginning with the premium plan. Never happened before even without the premium plan. We contacted Indeed, were given a ticket number, never heard from them again. Finally, several days later, after posting another job with the same problem, we contacted Indeed again. They promised a response that day. Still nothing. That latest ad has had two applicants in a week on premium. We have been with Indeed for years and know that is not right. The first ****** we spoke to also admitted something was not working correctly for the kind of response we got and we have the transcript of that conversation. We asked for a refund for all the days that we had this lack of service and were told we'd receive a "curtesy credit". After we said it's not a curtesy and that we'd be contacting the BBB and attorney general, we were then assured Indeed would "cooperate on that" and we'd be given credit for "any charges that make you feel invalid". Of course, no credit was made to our account. We would like a credit to our account and our account to fixed in a swift manner. Tired of hearing from everyone we talk to that they can't do anything about it.

    Hello ******** and the BBB,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with your recent job postings on Indeed.

We understand your frustration regarding the underperformance of your ads and the lack of timely communication from our support team. We take these concerns very seriously and are committed to resolving this issue promptly.

Regarding the candidate quality, at Indeed employers are charged per click to advertise a job on Indeed, not per candidate. Unfortunately, we are not directly involved in the hiring process so we have no control over the quality or quantity of the candidates that apply to your jobs. In addition, you can pause or close a job posting at any time. It is the responsibility of the account holder to keep track of any sponsored jobs.

It's also important to note that Indeed is a self-serve platform. The account holder is responsible for ensuring that the correct job postings are opened and closed in a timely manner. This practice is crucial in avoiding any unwanted charges. Our platform is designed to give you full control over your job postings, providing flexibility and efficiency. However, to maximize these benefits and prevent unnecessary costs, we recommend regularly reviewing and managing your active job listings.

At the moment, we can see that 2 sponsored jobs are still active on the account registered on ************************************** As mentioned, we recommend regularly reviewing and managing your active job listings.

As a gesture of goodwill, we will be issuing a credit to your account of 350 USD. This credit will be applied to your account within the next few moments.

We value your long-term partnership with Indeed and are committed to providing you with the best possible service. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our support team directly through your account at the Help button.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Best regards,
    Indeed Support

Indeed unfairly suspended my account, preventing me from utilizing the platform to hire a new person for my business. I originally posted my job seeking applicants on March 14, 2025.I interviewed one candidate and had scheduled a second interview when I was notified my account was suspended on March 31, ******* reason for the suspension was given. I requested a review, and was given a standardized form to complete, which included a list of documents to provide. Not knowing specifically what was needed or why, I provided a copy of my insurance policy showing I'm a real business. I was notified that this was insufficient and that Indeed had made a final decision to permanently suspend my account. I called to get more information, but the customer service representative could not explain why my account was suspended. She did advise that there is no further recourse. I am a single member ******, with one client who is a single-member LLC. We are not a large business and we do not have many resources for fighting this kind of thing. I also don't have other resources for trying to hire someone to help me with my business. I have tried multiple times to get more details as to what I did wrong or how to fix it, with no further information from Indeed. Not being able to utilize the Indeed platform means I can't effectively recruit or interview candidates. I don't know what I'm going to do -without being able to hire someone, I may have to permanently shut down my business. I would like my account reactivated so I can continue the hiring process.

Hi ******* and the BBB. All Indeed accounts and jobs are subject to our standard reviewing process. In this case, we see that an appeal was submitted on the account and our moderation team has already responded back via the appeal that the account will remain disabled. However, we went ahead and submitted an internal request to have everything re-reviewed again. At this time, we have heard back and our internal team has concluded once more that the account will remain disabled. As the account has been disabled by Indeed ******* does not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We refer ******* to our terms of service: ********************************************************. If ******* has urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. As the account will remain disabled and that decision will not change, we consider this matter closed. Best, Indeed Support.

Hi ****** and the BBB. We have assisted ****** previously about this when they contacted our CEO directly via email. Their account under the email, **************************** had a smart sourcing subscription that was not canceled and it kept renewing. The subscription has since expired and ****** was provided with a refund. See attached PDF of our communication with ******. ****** came back to us today, April 3, 2025 asking if we charged them again. We checked their account **************************** and there are no new invoices and the smart sourcing subscription is expired. This was explained to ****** via email and we requested ****** to send over a screenshot of the invoice they received. No response back from ******. Once ****** responds to the email that was sent to them, we can further investigate. Overall, the account under **************************** does not have any new invoices. Best, Indeed Support.

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the disturbing behavior exhibited by your company towards individuals who have referred customers to you. It has come to my attention that your company has resorted to aggressive tactics, both violent and non-accommodating, against these individuals, which is wholly unacceptable.Additionally, I have noted practices such as overcharging state taxes and fees that appear to be exploitative. Such actions not only undermine the trust of your customers but also raise significant ethical concerns regarding your business operations.Furthermore, I have been informed that your company has directly contacted referrals to intimidate them, leading to altercations and undue stress. This is a troubling tactic that reflects poorly on your organization and raises questions about your commitment to ethical business practices.I urge you to publicly disclose any affiliations your organization may have with gangs or other criminal enterprises. Transparency is vital for consumers to make informed decisions, and your failure to do so may lead many to avoid your services due to fear of retribution.I request that you take immediate action to address these issues, including a review of your business practices and a commitment to treating all individuals with respect and fairness. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

Indeed moved a job I posted to my former employers account and charged their credit card. After I asked they keep giving me the run around saying my new account is not approved so they cant even see the job post, but they sure didn't have any problems moving it to my former employers account and charging their credit card.I tried multiple times to have it fixed but they keep making excuses that they cant see anything so they cant help.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/03/2025

Hello ********* **** and the BBB,

We would like to clarify that Indeed does not activate sponsored jobs. Indeed is a self-service product and a budget is chosen when the job is posted by the account holder and a payment method is added by the account holder. In addition, employers can pause or close a job posting at any time. It is the responsibility of the account holder to keep track of any sponsored jobs.

Having said that, we can see that ************************* is added as a user to the account registered on ************************** So a simple mistake regarding when someone was logged into which account seems to be the cause here.

This error on the clients side does not warrant a refund but we will go ahead with the refund as one-time commercial gesture. The amount has been credited to your payment method and will appear when your bank has processed it. Please note that any future refund requests will not be honored.

    We consider this case closed.

    Best regards,

    The Indeed Team

Last month - after not hearing from indeed for literally years, I started receiving emails from them on an account that was easily 20 years old.I tried to unsubscribe, but I could not get into my account so I wrote in and asked for help. A guy wrote me back and said he had unsubscribed me but recommended I delete myaccount. At the same time I randomly started getting emails from indeed from another account thats roughly 5 years old. I went into my account andclosed my account. Let me say that again I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT!!!As soon as I closed the second account ********************** STARTED EMAILING ME Welcome to indeed! AT THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS I JUST CLOSED!!!I cant close it AGAIN - because it has no information attached to it. What in the holy? Let me ask you straight - I close the account and it emails me a welcome letter?! Seriously explain this. Really. Please start. So I write in again explaining what happened and send pictures. The ***** who writes back doesnt DOESNT actually read whats going on and then tells me to CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!Let me be as clear as possible. This is NOT an actual complaint but I can't find any other method to contact Indeed. I've been looking for a job for a year. I've "applied" through Indeed and have received callbacks. However, all of these callbacks are showing up on my caller ID as spam/scam likely. I'm not able to answer these calls per carrier settings for my phone when it comes to these types of calls.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/27/2025

    Hello *********** and the BBB,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how frustrating it can be to miss important job-related calls due to them being marked as spam or scam likely by your phone carrier.

Indeed does not directly control how calls are labeled by phone carriers. However, we recommend the following steps to help mitigate this issue:

    - Check Your Phone Settings: Some phones allow you to adjust settings for spam call filtering. You may be able to whitelist certain numbers or adjust the sensitivity of the spam filter.
    - Contact Your Carrier: Reach out to your phone carrier to discuss the issue. They may be able to provide a solution or adjust the settings on their end to ensure that legitimate calls are not marked as spam.
    - Use Alternative Contact Methods: Ensure that your email address is up to date on your Indeed profile and in your job applications. Employers often follow up via email if they cannot reach you by phone.
    - Report the Issue: If you believe that the calls are being incorrectly marked as spam, you can report this to your carrier. They may have a process for reviewing and correcting these errors.

We hope these suggestions help improve your experience.

    Best regards,

    The Indeed Team

    Complaint: 23118559

I am rejecting this response because: It was brought to my attention from my carrier that each company who's number has been flagged as spam must individually provide documentation that they're a legitimate business who "makes a lot of calls" and ask for their number to be removed from the spam registry. No recipient can fix that, it must happen from the phone number owner in question. I agree this is counterintuitive when your company is trying to hire people or you make a lot of other calls throughout the day. Maybe, Indeed as well as the other job board websites should inquire with companies who're posting to see if they've checked to see if their number is on the spam list.

I am a user on an ********************** employer account. I have been using Indeed for several years as an employer to post jobs, recruit, interview, etc. ********** has received some recent employer reviews that I wanted to respond to. When I attempted to do this, I see the company is not claimed. When I try to "claim" the company, I receive an error message. This client specialist has emailed me stating I do not have an employer account, which is need to claim the company. I responded, confirming that I do in fact have an employer account and still cannot claim the page. The client specialist emailed me back stating that I reach out to chat and "closed this case." I have since reached out via chat on website messaging, with no response or resolution. I have emailed back and the specialist continues to close my case without any resolution. I have requested several changes to try and help me claim my company page, but I continue to receive nonsensical email responses that offer no help and I am instead directed to contact chat or "check out the ************* I would like my employer page and company page removed if I cannot claim it to respond to reviews. Not responding to reviews has a negative impact on our business and makes us look like we don't care. Back in 2021, I worked as a home health assessment nurse for a startup business called *********. This business was new, so due to my technical acumen, I established accounts to assist with it, including its Indeed account. I created it using an account that I only used for this purpose. I left the company, and my information was removed from their account. Fast forward to 2025, I am still receiving resumes that include the personal information of CNA applicants in my email. I have reached out to Indeed on several occasions asking them to completely remove my email from their system and as of today they have not. As of last week, I received resumes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. This has been ongoing. This behavior by an organization that is supposed to secure their job seekers' and employers' information is unprofessional and puts job seekers at risk. This exposes them to identity theft, unwanted contact/spam, phishing, and job loss if the information is delivered to the wrong hands. This is not public information and I am not the intended audience, so I should not be getting these. I have sent messages to Indeed on several occasions to get this fixed. I am a registered nurse. My license is public but my resume and contact information are not - there is a line. The fact that they do not prioritize our information is tasteless and potentially dangerous. I worked in *************** for 15+ years before becoming a nurse. Resumes are supposed to be secured whether in a physical file or on a server. Considering all of the resumes I have received and the reluctance and lack of care on their part to fix this, I will not be using their services again with my "private" account. I will use it to search then apply directly with the employer.I am asking BBB to assist in getting Indeed to fix this. I can only imagine how many other applicants are having their private information delivered to someone other than the intended without their consent.

Hi ***** and the BBB. We have looked into this further and we did locate an account for the company, *******************. Open jobs were found to have ******* email address to receive applications. To clarify, only employers can place emails on jobs to receive applications and it is the employer's responsibility to remove any emails that are not needed. In this case, we directly emailed the company to remove ******* email from the jobs and they have done so. ***** should no longer receive any applications for this business and the employer is aware that ******* email address should no longer be on any jobs to receive applications. As ******* email address has been removed by the employer as explained above, we consider this matter closed. Best, Indeed Support.
