I am own a small residential cleaning business in *********** and am trying to use Indeed under my *************************** account to hire 1099 cleaners. I've been seeking account verification since August 27th. I first called the number ************** to initiate verification. From there, the agent informed me the process would move to email. I received an email asking me to submit a document from a list of acceptable documents to verify my business. The list is below. I replied to the email with an electronic copy of my articles of incorporation digitally signed. They rejected the document because it was "editable." So then I sent the image of the document hand-signed. They rejected that again. Then I tried submitting a certificate of general liability insurance for my LLC, signed, twice. They rejected that too. I received an email stating I have to start the whole process over. I called the number above again and they said they could not help me because verification is handled by their "back office" and nothing can be done over phone once I have called them once. I need the verification to occur since my business depends on being able to hire. I complied with all the guidance for requested documents. Specifically, the Indeed emails said an acceptable document could include: "- Business License/Articles of Incorporation (or other Government-Issued Certificate)" or "- Insurance Document (for example, ****************************** I provided both, and was rejected.Business response

Bogus company refusing to publish honest reviews about employers. Only out for themselves. No customer service.Business response
09/06/2024
Hi ****** and the BBB,
Thank you for taking the time to communicate with us via email for further understanding. To explain, all company page reviews on Indeed are subject to a moderation process. Our goal is to make sure we are posting reviews that are transparent and reflect the true working experience of the company. However, if any part of a review violates our guidelines, we will not post it. Here are our guidelines for your reference. After review, the reviews submitted by ****** were rejected as they contained sensitive information that breaks our guarantee of anonymity of the writer and information regarding sensitive situations. This information was also explained earlier this year by our Job Seeker Support team and a supervisor on their team. For the reviews to go live, ****** needs to edit the reviews to provide only information that is useful insight of the overall experience.
Due to this information, the reviews in question cannot be published at this time. ****** can rewrite and submit the reviews again for review and potential publication. With this information, we consider this matter closed.

For the last several days/weeks I have received an endless string of calls from a company called CADC trying to set up a time to do a political survey. Each person I've spoken to, I've asked how they got my information and they've all stated it's because I signed up to take it at indeed.com. I've never, ever, ever used indeed.com for anything, ever. If they have my information, it's fraudulent, needs to be removed, I'd also like a copy of any and all information they have on me and how they got it. I'm concerned about identity theft.Business response

Hi ****** and the BBB. To provide more details on how contact information is shared on Indeed, contact information is only shared with employers when jobseekers apply for their positions or when jobseekers accept their contact through our resume database. We have checked internally and no account shows in our system for the email, ****************** The phone number provided on this complaint is not attached to any account in our system. In this case, as ****** has also confirmed that they have never used Indeed and as we have explained how contact information is shared on Indeed, it could be that ******'s information was gained from another website and then just used the Indeed name in their communication. For ******'s reference as well, we would like to share our Security page here: *******************************************. Per the above, we consider this matter closed. My Indeed profile was suspended for no reason: There's an issue with your profile. Your profile will remain Not Searchable on Indeed, and employers will no longer be able to find it in search results. This also means that you are unable to apply to jobs or message employers using your Indeed account at this time. I appealed and asking for the reason but there is no explanation. I believe I didn't violate any rules. Please help, I want my profile to be visible.Business response

Hi ***** and the BBB. We looked into this further and to explain, Indeed reviews all accounts to ensure our employers and job seekers have the best experience. ***** did submit an appeal for their account to be reviewed by our Trust & Safety team. However, we went ahead and submitted a second internal request at the highest priority to have everything re-reviewed. Indeed has blocked me from continuing to seek employment through their marketplace. I noticed an unusual error in the app, and after following up with Support I was able to see my account was blocked by their Trust and Safety team. I appealed that block, uploaded my drivers license, and explained that I didn't have any reason to believe that I'd violated their professional rules. The next week I got a note saying "thank you for appealing; we will be blocking your account; don't contact us again." Never told me what was wrong with my account. I'm just told to go away and don't contact them again. Blocking me from seeking employment on this public marketplace is cruel. I should be able to appeal and provide counter evidence to what their Trust and Safety team has accused me of. This shouldn't be legal.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:I would request further transparency into the reasoning for why my account was moderated in the first place.
Had I been accused of unprofessional conduct? Was there a specific concern with my job seeker profile?
Thank you very much for the re-review and for enabling me to continue my job search. I truly appreciate that. However, I also want very much to understand why I was blocked in the first place.
I was unable to see the block notice for many months due to a problem on the iPhone appwhere I believed I was submitting applications, but in reality, all of those for weeks were being silently discarded. This feels like its caused regrettable lost time and effort, and the response Ive seen just glosses over the misjudgment that affected my job search.
Id ask for just a hint of understanding on how I got into this while negative situation at all.

My Indeed profile has the following message: "Your profile may violate our guidelines. Employers can't find you, and may not get your applications or messages. You can submit an appeal." I filled an appeal and it was automatically rejected. I reached out to indeed support asking why my account profile visibility was disabled and did not get a clear answer. I believe my account did not violate any of Indeed's policies or guidelines, nor have they provided any transparent explanation as to why my account was flagged. I just want my account restored so that I can apply to jobs like I normally do.Business response

I set up my Indeed profile many years ago and last really used it about a year ago. I am looking for a new job and wanted to start using it again but received the following message: Your profile may violate our guidelines. Employers can't find you, and may not get your applications or messages. You can submit an appeal.I filled an appeal and it was automatically rejected. I reached out to indeed support asking why my account profile visibility was disabled, and even emailed them a photo of my drivers license. They replied with a generic No response and said that they refused to look into the matter any further. I know my account did not violate any of Indeed's policies or guidelines, nor have they provided any transparent explanation as to why my account was flagged. I just want my account restored so that I can apply to jobs. Indeed advertises itself as one of the biggest job listing sites in the **. This issue directly prevents me from getting a new job.Business response

I already had a cover letter on my Indeed.com job profile for years. On August 26, 2024, Monday my cover letter disappeared at or around 6:30pm, also, the Indeed.com job tab options for uploading a new cover letter disappeared, and the Indeed.com tab options for uploading additional documents disappeared, as well. I also noticed that Indeed.com still posts the instructions for uploading a new cover letter, and they still post instructions on how to update an already existing cover letter and instructions are still posted by Indeed.com on how to add additional documents when applying to jobs. I've used the Indeed.com cover letter options for a long time. However, I just received an email from the Indeed.com customer service today, August 27, 2024, Tuesday, **************************************** stating that Indeed.com never offered those options on their job website. - ***************************** ************************ ********************* *************** ************* *************Business response

Hi ******** and the BBB,
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We looked into matter further and can confirm that ******** has reached out to us via multiple channels. To explain, Indeed does not have an option to store a cover letter on the account. This is a feature that Indeed is hoping to add in the future but for now, it is not possible. It was explained to ******** via our Job Seeker Support team and *********** team the above information as well as that the cover can only be uploaded when applying to an active job under the "Supporting documents" section.
In regards to the accounts provided, we were unable to find an account under ***************. The other 2 emails (************************, ************************) have accounts on **********************. To reiterate, there is no option to upload a permanent cover letter to these accounts. Should ******** want to provide additional information, they can continue the conversation with our Job Seeker Support team.
As this is not an active feature on Indeed, we consider this matter closed.
