We were charged $240 today for a supposed subscription. We spent hours trying to reach their management. Indeed's response is just cancel it. So, they started a subscription today without our knowledge and charged our card. This is theft. We will file a formal complaint with the attorney general in ********** and *****. We will take them to small claims court and warn the pubic. If did not pay attention to the charges we would have been scammed by them and this looks like a scam. This is fraud.

    Hello ***** and the BBB,

Our team worked directly with **** on this issue earlier today over the phone. We confirmed the subscriptions were successfully canceled and a refund has been provided in the amount of $720.00. I've attached the follow-up email that I sent to the client. I have also attached the previous communicaiton that we sent to the account holder in June 2024 regarding this issue.

As a refund has been provided, we consider this issue resolved.

    Best regards,

Hi ****** and the BBB. To explain, Indeed reviews all accounts to ensure our employers and job seekers have the best experience. We see that ****** did submit an appeal and it was reviewed by our Trust and Safety Team. A response was sent on the appeal that the block will remain. However, we went ahead and submitted an internal request to have the appeal re-reviewed. At this time, we have heard back and our Trust & Safety Team have concluded once more that the block will not be lifted. In order to protect the integrity of our review process, no additional information has been provided as to why the block will remain. We refer ****** to our Terms of Service: *******************************************************************************. As the block will not be lifted, we consider this matter closed. Best, Indeed Support.

I am rejecting this response because: there is no explanation that has been provided as to why my Indeed account has been suspended. To my knowledge I have not violated any of their legal terms and conditions. I am a college instructor who advises students on how to find jobs. I find it hard to believe that Indeed would suspend my account. ********************** cannot continue doing business like this in ******. Their unethical policies will not be tolerated in ******. I will be filing a lawsuit against Indeed for operating in an unethical manner, and starting a petition for all the HR teams in colleges, and employers to stop using Indeed.

Indeed.com suspended my account without any reason. They asked for my license, I gave them a picture of my license and they send an email saying I am still completely suspended for violating community guidelines. I have been using Indeed for many years without any issues, now, suddenly my account is suspended without a reason? They also now have my data and license information and could be using my information.

    Hi **** and the BBB,

We have asked our moderation team to re-review it and we have received confirmation that the suspension has been lifted.

I haven't found a job in 2 years going to 3 years. I was using the Indeed app. I discovered that Indeed would change or update my resume. I would like Indeed to know what is taking place.Thank you,******** ********** **********************

    Hello ******** and the BBB,

Unfortunately, we are not involved in the hiring process of the jobs posted on Indeed, so we have no input on what candidates employers reach out to and whether they follow up with them afterward. This is entirely their responsibility and we encourage them to respond and follow up with all candidates but this is something we cannot control.

We would advise checking out our Career Guide page: ************************************************, there are some great resources here that will assist with all areas of your job search.

Please pay particular attention to the "What to Do If You Aren't Hearing Back From Employers" section: ************************************************/finding-a-job/what-to-do-if-you-arent-hearing-back-from-employers, this should help to improve your chances of receiving a positive response from employers on Indeed.

Also, check out our new videos on ******* with some great search hacks on Indeed: ***************************************************************************************

Please note that Indeed does not change/update resumes. Job seekers have full control over their profile, they can make changes/updates when they sign in and visit ***************************************

    We hope this is helpful!

I want to delete an old unused indeed.com account. The website won't allow me to log into my account unless I provide my phone # and agree to receive robo calls and texts which I wont do.I tried to create a service ticket with the company but they wouldn't allow that either unless I agreed to the robo calls

    Business response

    01/06/2025

    Hello ***** and the BBB,

You can submit a request to delete your account by using this form: ************************************************************************************

Once you do, you will receive an email to confirm your request, however, it will not be possible to reuse that email address again on Indeed.

Regarding telephone verification, at this time, our system requires verification by sending a code to authenticate users via mobile phone number or landline. We understand that this may not be convenient for everyone and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately, we currently do not have alternative verification methods available.

    Best regards,

Our business is attempting to post a job on Indeed. We are a new business and getting ourselves established and trying to get ourselves established by hiring employees, thus the reason we are trying to post a job on Indeed. They have an account verification process that offered a phone call to discuss verification. We completed this process yesterday and there did not seem to be any concerns. About 10 minutes after this phone call, we got an email stating they "paused access to the employer account" and they "noticed an issue" with the account. They continued "may include insufficient account information or unusual login activity, or activity that is in violation of Section D.2 of Indeed's Terms of Service." This vague message was alarming. I called to speak with them regarding the matter. They stated that they could not tell me what the problem or issue was. I pointed out it was a broad collection of possible problems and it would be difficult to resolve without understanding the problem. They suggested I submit documents. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold several times, only to be ultimately told no supervisor was available and would not be made available. We submitted business formation documents and the *** along with a photo identification, all to show them we are a new company seeking employees for our new business. They responded with another email several hours later saying, "Thank you for submitting your verification request. After reviewing your account, we've found it does not meet our requirements. Note that your account is not currently accruing any charges. For more information, review Indeed's Terms of Service and Job Posting Guidelines."Again, they were not clear what the problem was and were very vague about what caused them to determine our business "did not meet" their requirements. We are seeking for Indeed to reactivate our account and allow our job post to go live and active and allow us to recruit new employees.

    Hello ******** and the BBB,

To explain, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met.

Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users interest.

We can confirm that the account was reviewed and fully verified. The account is now fully active and accessible.

    Best regards,

    The Indeed Team

Indeed is charging my organization for a "free" job posting and refusing to give us a refund.

    Business response

    01/02/2025

Hi ******** and the BBB. We looked into this further and can confirm that ******** called our employer mainline today, 1/2/25 and spoke to a client success specialist. It was explained to ******** how the charges accrued on the account, a paid listing was posted by the account holder. The job was never closed by the account holder and it continued to spend. It was also explained how to remove budgets from a job and how to close jobs. To clarify, all Indeed accounts are self- serve. Employers can log into their respective accounts to manage jobs. Indeed is not responsible for unwanted spend. In this case, a refund was negotiated with ******** in the amount of $398.15 for the past 90 days of spend. This was already processed on the account and ******** should see it on their bank statement within the next 3-5 business days. That is dependent on their bank. ******** was also requesting a refund for charges that occurred from May 2024, Indeed does not process refunds for invoices over 120 days old.

For Lakeitha's reference, we have included the below from Indeeds terms of service: ****************************************

Indeed Ads Program Terms - 5. Payment
Refunds (if any) are at the absolute discretion of Indeed and only in the form of advertising credit for Indeed Property. If you are removed from Indeed, but have previously spent on Indeed, you are not entitled to a refund of previously spent amounts.

    Here is more information on how to contact Indeed directly as well while logged into the employer account: ****************************************************************************************************;

Indeed also has a one refund per product policy. As a refund has been processed on the account for sponsored/paid jobs, we consider this matter closed. Best, Indeed Support.

Hi ******* and the BBB. For our team to further assist here, ******* will need to provide more details on what exactly their issue is. Are they looking to report a job they applied to directly on Indeed? Please also keep in mind that Indeed is not involved in the hiring process and we are not able to control employer behavior that occurs off the Indeed platform. We look forward to hearing back from *******. Best, Indeed Support.

In September 2024, I attempted to make an employer account on **********************'s website (company: ***************). I was looking to hire an international remote employee for my startup business. Indeed flagged my account as potential fraud and prevented me from posting my job on its platform. In November and December, I reached out to indeed on at least 3 separate occasions to resolve the issue and provide evidence that my business is 100% legal and in good standing. I provided my companies articles of organization, state sales tax paperwork, statement of good standing, state business license, surety bonds, federal EIN info, company car title, etc. However, Indeed made a final determination that my company is not allowed on their platform on Dec 14 (due to insufficient evidence I'm a real company). I called again today and was informed that the case is closed and there is nothing I can do change my blocked status. Indeed has a large market share in matching employees/employers. Not being able to access the platform has prevented me from being able to hire top talent and grow my business. I'm asking BBB to help me get approved on the Indeed website.

*************************** ("**********") had 2 Indeed accounts last year. This year we decided to cut down on cost and put one account in Paused state on Nov 12, 2024. Yearly renewal was due on Nov 12, 2024, ********** paused it before renewal and it was expected that our account will not be charged. To our surprise, when we received the credit card statement we learnt that we were charged for renewal for $4,094.40. ********** has neither requested for renewal , nor ********** used this product for a single day. When ********** informed Indeed that its renewal money must be refunded, they are coming up with excuses. They are saying that Pause does not mean cancellation etc... We have not used the account for a single day. They charge renewal fee without our permission on a paused account. Please reach out to me at ************************

    Business response

    12/20/2024

     Hi ***** and BBB,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We have looked further into the matter regarding your request for a refund for your renewed Smart Source subscription. After reviewing your account, we have made a final decision to reject the refund request. As per our policy, Indeeds terms of service:
Indeed Ads Program Terms - 8. Refunds

Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, Indeed may offer refunds for Indeed services for a period of four (4) months from the date of purchase. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Indeed will not provide refunds in case of abuse of our policies, and any and all refunds are ultimately at the sole discretion of Indeed.

We have found that after the subscription was renewed, all of the contacts that came with the renewal were moved to an active subscription and the contacts were used. Due to this, as well as the fact that a previous refund was given for the same product and reason, we have decided to reject the refund. As this has been also been reviewed by a manager and a final decision has been made based on our policy, we consider this matter closed.

    Best, Indeed Support.

    Complaint: 22711663

I am rejecting this response because:

    1. ********** did not authorize the renewal of subscription.

    2. ********** has not used the renewed subscription even for a single day.

3 ********** only intended to transfer its pending unused rollover contacts from previous subscription.

    4. If the transfer included any contacts from new subscription, ********** can transfer those contacts back.

    5. ********** should not be paying for the yearly subscription without using it for a single day. Subscription was paused as soon as the earlier subscription ended.

    6. ********** only expects to get its full subscription money ($4094.40) back.

    Regards,
