Owned a life insurance policy since 2016 .. cancelled my policy in may of 2024 .. am supposed to receive a check for whole life value accrued .. was told check was mailed then returned .. then they said check was resent .. when i complained was told they would direct deposit $ owed .. never happened .. they continue to give me the run around .. have spoken to someone on phone on several occassions over 2 months .. has been 2 months since i cancelled policy .. they have been rude and elusive over phone . They continue to promise money owed but have not received anything , even after they claim they have sent on several occassions.Business response

We would like to thank ************************* for reaching out to our office. According to our records the insured requested cancellation of the policy and a surrender form was mailed. The initial surrender check was mailed May 1, 2024 and returned to our office for insufficient address. The insured then requested that the surrender value be direct deposited to his bank account. I have had national income life since I was a working employee 25 years ago. They were given to me by my union I have been retired for 25 years and have been paying the monthly $35 life insurance fee which gets taken out every month. A few years ago I took out a loan against my account it went through I got it in a couple weeks everything was fine. This time in early April I requested a $500 loan I was told it was accepted and approved and sent to my bank account and it was never sent. Ever since then I have been told story after story about where the money is but nobody seems to know except that it has not been sent by the company and they don't know the reason why. They keep telling me they are going to send me something that I have to sign through an email I never received the email they told me they're going to send it through the mail I never received it in the mail and they have no supervisors to talk to and nobody can give you any answers I'm starting to think it's a scam.Business response

$500 was deposited to her bank account on May , 2024.

Was contacted by Nilco rep *********************** ************ regarding my policy being a term not whole life policy. Was pressured during a Zoom call to sign a document without a price or explanation. Then was called and texted and harassed to sign document. I would like to convert this policy but I would like a price. I won't sign a blank check so to speak.Business response

One of my friends had a plan with them and tried to leave. However instead of deleting her information when she told them that she didnt want to be apart of their coverage, they continued to call me and made it seem like she was still covered by them to make me sign up as well. Its very misleading and they are trying to get into peoples pockets and are making them sign up for unnecessary things and making them pay unnecessary feesBusiness response

With the limited information provided it would appear that the friend had given the consumers contact information in response to a request for referrals. National income will not complete my request to cancel unwanted insurance. We are being charged for something that was suppose to be canceled. I can not get any answer as to why my children do not show up on the life insurance and the website says one premium is paid thru March 23,2024 but they took more money out on 3/29. As of today 4/15/24 nothing was adjusted to reflect this. The website does not reflect correct information. They will not send me a hard copy of my information and the website does not give the entire policy information. I sent in my request on 3/8 and have only gotten 2 calls to sell me additional insurance and not fix any of the issues at hand. Email attempts, phone attempts and now this.Business response

NY0661947 ****** Brown Whole Life Monthly premium $10.00 Policy is paid to 05.02.2024. This policy has no cash value.
NY0661948 *************************; Accident Policy Monthly premium $13.39 Policy is paid to 05.0.2024. This policy provides family coverage.
I am attaching a surrender/cancellation form. If ******* wishes to cancel these policies he can complete the form and return it to my attention at ******************

12/05/23-Returned docs to stop insurance plan within time frame provided 01/04/24-called to ensure they were received, was told payments would stop, I still stopped from my end 02/01/24 & 03/01/24-continue to receive payment requests 04/09/24 - still haven't been reimbursed as promised for the 2 payments that were deducted from my accountBusiness response

We did not receive a request for cancellation until January4, 2024, which was outside the examination period. As a courtesy, we will cancel the policy as the date of issue and refund premiums. I acquired life insurance with this company in 2012..In March of 2024,I decided to surrender my policy for cash value.This is ***** and I have not eeceive my cash.All agents I have spoken with,gave me dates on when the check was sent out.3/22/2015,3/24/2014,3/27/2024.I sent cancelation forms over 8 times,each time I called to see if they were received,"we don't see them in our system".A whole month has passed and I'm still getting the run around.Customer response

According to our records *********************** called our office on March 5, 2024 to request cancellation of the two Whole Life policies. Cancellation forms were mailed to the insured.
We received the authorization for the cancellation of policy NY0371763. However, we did not receive a cancellation for policy NY0769961.
As a courtesy, we will issued a one-month refund on policy NY0371763. The check was released on April 16, 2024.Initial Complaint

My wife and I have been trying to cancel our life/accident policies (NY0719787, 88, 89) for several weeks, as we have purchased an IUL policy from another provider. My wife was placed on hold for over an hour, then told she needed to call back because the computer system shuts down at 4:00 pm. The following day, she waited on hold for 45 mins, just to be told that I would need to call and cancel the policies. Today (1/23/2024) marks the 5th time I have attempted to cancel our policies, only to be left on hold for an hour, until the line hangs up. We know we have no chance of being refunded for the redundant coverage that we've now carried for several months; but NILICO still continues to charge us for unwanted coverage, each month, and will not allow us to cancel.Business response

I cancelled my life insurance policy in early December and requested a payout form to withdraw the full amount of $1,500 Ive made this request 4 separate times and still have yet to receive an email with the form and/or the form in mail.I believe this company is purposely avoiding sending the form to avoid giving me my money.Business response

I called to cancel a policy Im not aware of and Im put on hold for over an hour. Then paper work sent to me has a signature that is not mines but pages before this one page have my real signature like make this make sense. Then they answer the phone fast but to cancel its a long wait on the phone.Business response
