Dear Better Business Bureau,I am formally filing a complaint against Indeed for the unjust restriction of my employer account, despite my company, *********, fully complying with their verification requests. This ongoing issue has disrupted our business operations, and Indeeds lack of transparency, ineffective customer service, and repetitive document rejections have made the process frustrating and financially damaging.Issue Summary ********* is a legitimate staffing and consulting firm, and Indeed is critical to our recruitment efforts. Our account was restricted without explanation, and despite submitting all requested, valid documentsincluding incorporation papers, insurance, and lease agreementsour verification was repeatedly rejected without justification.Customer Service Failures Attempts to resolve this have been exhausting and unproductive, with generic responses, no escalation options, and no clear reason for rejection. Instead, we are stuck in a cycle of resubmitting documents with no ******************* **************** Loss The restriction is preventing us from posting jobs and recruiting candidates.Operational Disruption We rely on Indeed for hiring, and this blockage is hindering our ability to fulfill contracts.Emotional Toll The lack of support is mentally draining, and we are running out of options.Request for BBB ****************** Escalation We seek the BBBs help in holding Indeed accountable and request:A clear explanation for our account restriction.A direct point of contact at Indeed for resolution.Immediate reinstatement of our account if no legitimate issue exists. If this matter is not resolved promptly, we will have no choice but to escalate legally, as Indeeds unjustified actions are causing financial harm and preventing our business from operating effectively. We hope to avoid legal action, but we are prepared to take the necessary steps if this issue remains unresolved.

Hi Kunmi and the BBB. To explain, all Indeed accounts go through moderation. We must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. That is the case for Kunmi's account. We do see that Kunmi submitted an appeal and passed over some documents. However, the documentation that was provided have been deemed not verifiable. Publicly available documents were passed on the appeal and Indeed does not accept those documentations. Kunmi can read more about our verification process here: ***************************************************************************************************************************************. We have submitted an internal request to have everything on the appeal re-reviewed and our internal team has come to the conclusion that to move forward with the review on the account, Kunmi will need to pass over additional documentation for their business via the appeal that clearly shows their business name, the address of the business and that is not publicly available. Once Kunmi does that, the review on the account can continue. Best, Indeed Support.

They repeatedly send me the same communication. Can I continue to constantly receive emails and messages in spite of me deleting and even changing my telephone number. They have become belligerent in there messages to me. I have given warning to my community per our community website I have given warning to the college I am familiar with to Warn students of the fraudulent activity.

Indeed let third party recruiting agencies to post jobs especially for nursing homes. This third party sometimes use the candidates information to get in contact with then and ask for secured identification such as social security and date of birth. Mostly third parties so called talent acquisition call up the candidates and act as the owner of the facility which delegated them to get candidates nurses. This third party ( agency) humiliate the candidates and judge someone who has a PHD ********** gender, and race. They also bring up comments made by some personnel who are not authorized to do such s comment. In addition, these third party are connected with some criminal nurses at the facility that abusive, lost, dont listen.... they get the candidates an interview with someone who left the candidates company actually abandoned the workplace just to make a show time and get unpleasant comments about the candidates who are still working for the sane company which was abandoned indeed is nothing but about money. They fail to screen the customer who is making the post for the job. The reason this third party recruiters cover the nursing home which is is really understaffed thats an excuse for DOH and other regulatory authorities while hiring illegal overseas nurses who work for at least a third of the money comparing to American qualified nurses.

I am rejecting this response because: indeed gives an access to some recruiters who are working on behalf of nursing homes. These recruiters speak very rude to candidates and belligerent. A lady especially who is representing The Chateau nursing home, phoenix, and as alleged most are hers in a language describing the candidate and judgemental. It is wrongful to give an access to recruiters.. as that lady alleged that she studied to describe people on the phone. The so called administrators ( study two years in college to get some education about being Licensed nursing administrator).. these type of administrators must have at least 4 years of being an assistant before considered to be administrators these so called administrators as that recruiters for these facilities put a comment on my CV as being negative???? Abusive???
thats not acceptable. Indeed must make sure these posted jobs are directly requested from the facilities it is so ridiculous!!! Humiliating, and not EOE.

I am trying to create a job add to hire employees in through Indeed. We are a new company and they are not accepting our documents to list the job add. I created an employer profile and posted a job listing on indeed to hire staff. Indeed requested I verify my business with them by sending in some documents so they can verify my business before allowing me to post job listings. I sent them utility bills, business license, and the trade name registration and they did not accept those documents even though those were listed in their "accepted documents list". The documents were not altered in anyway. They did not provide any reason for their rejection of the documents and said their decision was final without any explanation or possible resolution. I called their support line for employers several times and their support staff kept repeating that the verification team is a separate department that the public can not reach and they do not provide reasons for their decisions and rejections.I just want my employer profile verified so I can post job listings online to hire some staff.

I was contacted by a employer using Indeed requesting a Personal Assistant via text message on and about the 01/04/2025. I filled out the application and submitted it. All the emails I received were from Indeed Jobs with prospective employer's name underneath. The whole job process which included me receiving a fraudulent check in the amount of $4595.00 was a con. Throughout the process of receiving a US Priority mail envelope with this check was a lie from the onset. I tried to contact Indeed Jobs with the specifics of the situation so as not to have another job seeker have to endure the needless stress I faced with trying to cash a fraudulent check. To no avail, to report a job they had me go to place called my My Jobs on their website which did nothing for me to report any fraudulent happenings which included felonies. People should be aware that my personal information in the form of an application I submitted is out there in the world circulating and I had no way to contact Indeed Jobs for assistance. Indeed Jobs should be embarressed for how they protect the personal information of the people they try to find jobs for. I have much documentation that I will not upload wioth the exception of an email.

    Hello ********* and the BBB,

We want to make sure job seekers are having a safe experience with Indeed. For this reason, your contact information is only shared with employers when you apply for their position or you accept their contact through our database. We do not have a team that reaches out to job seekers offering positions via text or WhatsApp, or any other communication platform.

If you received communication outside of Indeed offering you a job, that communication is not from Indeed. We recommend that you block them and report them to your phone/email provider. If you have suffered a direct loss, you should contact your local authorities for further action.

For your safety, please review our Security page and these guidelines for a safe job search:

Indeeds recent changes have made it extremely difficult for small, independent recruiters to get approved, and the lack of customer service has been maddening. Despite submitting the required documents, such as my Articles of Organization and recruiting contracts, I keep facing denials without clear explanations. Even after highlighting approved documents, my submissions are still rejected with no valid reason. Its incredibly ************** January, I paid for an employer account, posted jobs, contacted candidates, and hired two people. Shortly after, I spent another $150 on contacts, only to have my account frozen for verification (now disputing with cc).In an attempt to meet their requirements, I paid to start an LLC, since I was a 1099 contractor, and submitted my Articles of Organization, only to be declined because the information is public in my state. I then submitted a recruiting contract from one of my companies, but it was rejected againeven though I highlighted the approved document showing my pay rate. The lack of support and transparency has been a major setback. For independent recruiters like me, running small 1099 firms, this situation is especially tough. Ive used Indeed for over 12 years, and the lack of customer service and clear answers is deeply disappointing. After being unemployed last year, I was thankful to secure contracts with two companies to fill entry-level positions, but without access to Indeeds platform, I fear I wont be able to find the candidates these businesses need.Indeed will probably mention I have multiple accounts, but this was due to me trying to submit everything they needed for verificationa trial-and-error process since theres no direct way to talk to anyone. I wish I could resolve this by speaking to someone over the phone.

I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because nobody ever contacted me directly, despite them having my phone number on file. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and has left me in a difficult position when it comes to recruiting, especially since Indeed has such a strong hold on the entry-level job market.
Ive complied with every request, submitted all the necessary paperwork, and even went as far as opening three different LLCs just to navigate their confusing system. It all started when I began using a VPN before a trip to *****. Although they never explicitly told me this was the cause of the issue, I strongly suspect it is. They likely dont want to reveal this detail, probably to prevent spammers from taking advantage of it, but I cant think of any other reason for the rejections.
What made this even more maddening was the complete lack of support. I couldnt speak with anyone directly, and instead, I received only canned email responses. I know many of you are experiencing similar issues, and I truly sympathize with your frustration. My advice: avoid using a VPN. While they wont inform you of this, using one seems to be an automatic red flag for their system.

I used indeed for the first time as an employer and found it to be full of bugs. I tried three times with different ads and had no success in hiring someone it just produced unqualified people. And since it just routes you unqualified people they charge you per click apparently even if you set a daily budget. I closed all ads prior to the end and still received applicants which means I was still being Charged for clicks even after I closed down the ads. Super SCAMMY if theyre gonna let you set a daily budget and then charge you per click and just send you random people who do not meet qualifications and some were spam bots- so they sent me spam people just to charge me for it and then also not truly removing my posts when I closed them. That sounds incredibly sketchy and like an unfair business practice that preys on people to scam them out Of extra money. I spoke with ** and ***** and ***** stated that their system was messed up and they will be charging my card for the $143.66 even after disputing this. I advised this was unfair business practice for continuing to charge my account for clicks after closing Ads and refusing to explain their charge per click schedule and also sending spam accounts my way to clickand raise their cost they claim I owe.

Hi ******* and the BBB. We have looked into this further and we can confirm that they have been in contact with our client success team via our employer mainline. It was explained to ******* that the account holder created 3 paid positions that were active during the month of February and the account was billed correctly. We understand that ******* is upset about candidate quality issues. However, when a job is posted on Indeed it is publicly available for anyone to apply for. Also, Indeed works on a post pay billing cycle, meaning that charges that accrue in one month, do not get charged until the following month. That is the case here. We can confirm there are no active jobs in the account. Our pay per click model was explained to ******* and more information about this model can be found on our public employer help center: *************************************************************************************************. To confirm, nothing has been charged on the account as there is an open past due invoice. Indeed cannot process a refund on an amount that has not even been charged/not gone through on an account. For ********************** to process a refund, the charge will need to be paid and then a refund can be processed. This was offered/explained to ******* by the representative that assisted them and ******* stated they would not pay the invoice and submit a BBB complaint. If the invoice is never paid, the account will eventually be disabled by our finance team. ******* has now been told twice on what needs to be done to move forward here with a refund, the process mentioned above will not change. BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
