On March 7, 2023, I was contacted by *********************** and a woman name ****** from this number **************. Representatives for the company regarding my free accidental death benefit provided by my union ******** in ***. I gave them my beneficiary information and they requested four family emergency contacts which I also gave them. They have since taken the emergency contact information that I gave them IN GOOD FAITH and have been rudely harassing them DAILY attempting to force them to take meetings with them to sell them life insurance. They are performing a phishing scam using information that was given solely as an emergency contact and not for any other purpose. What else are they capable of doing with this information! I want immediately this information wiped from my records and those individuals held accountable for their actions.Business Response

The information that **************** received from her Union regarding the No Cost Accident Death Benefit would have indicated that the certificate of coverage would be hand delivered by one of our independently appointed agents. This allows our agents to review other products available thru our office. The agents also use this as an opportunity to received leads for future business contacts.
Our office apologizes that **************** contacts have been inconvenienced. We have reached out to the office of the general agent and requested that contact information be removed from their database.If she should receive further contact please have her reach out to me with that information.

In the year of 2016, National Income insurance company removed money from my checking account to make payments on policy #NY0538846 in the name of *****************************. I did not authorize payments for this policy. The Insurance Company refuse to refund me all my money back. I requested a copy of the authorization form to be sent to me, the signature on this form is not mine. I called NILICO on 3/6/23 to cancel policy #NY0317858 in the name of *******************************,name is spelled wrong. The Company changed their name to ******** Income Life Insurance Company. In April of 2021 I made a request to NILICO not to remove any money from my checking account to pay for policies numbered NY0317858,NY0323805, NY0323804 and NY0538846, because paying for these policies is a hardship for me. I also informed the company that I don't have policy numbered NY0538846 and I did not authorized this policy. The Company ignored my request. The Company forwarded me 4 checks, 3 are in the name of ***************************** and 1 in the name of ********************* one check is missing. I'm attaching a letter to the company with my signature and copies of the checks. Thank you, **********************

Policy NY0317858 was surrendered by check on February 7, 2023. that check cleared our account on February 28, 2023. Please let me know if our office can be of further assistance.

National Income Life Insurance Company only sent $701.27 the surrender amount for policy no NY0538846. This policy was issued 4/2016 by NILICO without my signature. NILICO stole from me. The Company was removing about $282.13 a month for all policies including NY0538846, the amount of this policy is $100,000.00. The amount of $1540.00 was removed from my checking account without my authority by NILICO. I sent proof of my correct signature to BBB. I had taken out 6 policies with NILICO, the numbers are NY0323804, NY0323804, NY0317858, NY0317856, NY031757 and NY037859, these policies were issued in 2011, NILICO closed this policies. NILICO terminated *********************, policies NY0317856, NY031757 and ************************* policy NY0317859. I have a life insurance/accidental policy with NILICO. My wife, my son, and myself are all insured and covered on said policy. On January 5th, 2022 I suffered a back injury where I had a two day hospital stay and was out of work for 9 months. I filed a claim with them in regards to the injury on March 8th, 2022. As I am owed compensation from NILICO as a part of the accidental policy I pay for. It has been an ongoing headache from the start. The communication on their end is horrific. I call multiple times, as well as my wife and get no real answers on where my money is. When I initially called I got "it's still in review" called again a few weeks later "more documentation is needed". Sent in said documentation's and still no payment. We are now 9 months from date of initial claim and still have no answers. We get told "it's still in review". I still get billed every month for $100+, so they get their money but where is the money I am owed! Just got off the phone with them again today to be told the same thing again, it's still in review. The point is, I pay for the insurance, put in a claim, and I am not being paid what I am owed. It's false advertising, and theft in my opinion. I will be contacting the NYS Attorney Generals office about this matter as well.Business Response

My husband and I have policies with NILICO. After my husband passed **** in May, I filed a claim in June. With the claim I also requested a name change on my policy and a form to update my beneficiary. They told me what to do and gave me the address where to mail documents and letter with all the information requested. I keep receiving letters for death certificate and not the other documents. Even after mailing out the death certificate overnight and someone by the name of Holifield went into the post office and signed for the overnight envelope with the death certificate in it. Yet, when I call the company they still have not received the death certificate. And as always they will make a note of it on my file which isn't there the next time I speak to someone. Last person told me a check was made but then cancelled because they didn't have the death certificate. Then why was a check written in the first place. And if they didn't get the first set of documents why when they ask for my name and I give the current one it is accepted and if they didn't get any of the death certificates that means they should be asking for all the documents and not just the death certificate? All of this is just suspicious and underhanded deceit. My husband was our family soul provider of our 14 year old and myself. Due to my health it is difficult for me to hold a steady job. This money was intended to pay for his funeral and to hold us out until other means of support came our way. But instead of being what they claim to be I get the run arounds. The funeral still isn't paid for and I can't pay my bills. So on top of loosing my husband, our life insurance company is making life more difficult instead of helping the situation. Policy number which a claim is filed for is NYXXXXXXX. We have been a loyal customer since 2013 and never had a problem. We signed up for life insurance and then when we hit fmoney issues we called to cancel the policies as it was bills and food or life insurance. Spoke to a woman Oct 14th and she told us they would mail out a form for us to sign and send back. This form would be to cancel the policy and refund the first payment. 3 days later someone had called us and I explained we canceled and then the next day after that the money was taken from our account which put us negative and we got over draft fees. It is now Nov 5th and still no form. And no way to reach anyone to cancel or find out more information. Everytime I call say I want to cancel line disconnects.Business Response

One of their agents called me to tell me that my policy is worth zero dollars after I have paid into it for 7 years. So I called the customer service phone number to cancel both policies. I usually get an agent pretty quickly and then they say they have to transfer me to the cancellation department. This is when I stay on hold anywhere from 40 - 85 minutes before the line abruptly disconnects. This company is scamming hard working people out of their money and they should be shut down.Business Response

They were issued as applied for and there is no basis for a refund of premiums. National income life refused to insure me because of an existing health condition, I filed an appeal, but coverage was still denied.. no big What I didn't fully realize is some of the additional coverage offered was approved, just not the actual life insurance policy. After an hour (63 mins actually) on hold, I was finally able to speak to someone about cancelling, guess it's not a top priority to help someone cancel a policy... The person I spoke with gave me a couple of cancellation numbers I would need to "complete" the paperwork. I was told the paperwork would come by mail or email, why they couldn't tell me which one specifically is a bit concerning. This has been about 2 weeks ago now, still no correspondance from National Income life. Needless to say, waiting on hold for another hour to inquire as to the status isn't something I'm looking forward to, will just pay the fee from my bank to stop payment.Business Response

I was on hold for over 3 hours, hung up on and transfered multiple times on 9/16/22 to cash out 2 policies I have had since 8/3/2010. It is an accident and also life insurance policy. When I finally spoke to someone I was told they would e mail a copy of a form I needed to sign and send back. I also asked for a copy in the mail in case e mail wasn't printable. It has been 2 weeks today and I have not received either one. My monthly payment of 63.73 for both policies was taken out of my account on 9/14/22 and I cashed out on 9/16/2022 and they have since then sent me a bill for $14.19 for my accident policy. I do have a letter stating that after 10 years my cash surrender amount on my life policy is $2116.63. Today is 9/30/22 and they are suppose to start at 8 o'clock at 8:45 and recording says call back during business hours and hangs up on you. Please help me get my money back from here. They have been taking my payments every month for over 12 years and I just want to be done with them They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered.Business Response
